Turkish Government Scholarships Eligibility Criteria:

Below are the eligibility criteria for the Turkey Government Scholarship:

  1. One of the strict criteria that are considered is the age of the candidate.
  2. You should not have been born before January 1998 if you want to apply for an undergraduate degree.
  3. You cannot apply for a Master’s degree if you were born before January 1989.
  4. The PhD program does not accept applicants born before January 1983, and the Research Program requires applicants born before January 1974.
  5. A minimum of 70% of the marks is required for an undergraduate degree application.
  6. 75% of the marks are required for applying for the masters and PhD degrees.
  7. 90% of the marks are required for medical school programs.
  8. You cannot apply for the program if you are a citizen of Turkey or were previously its citizen.
  9. Scholarships are not available to students studying in Turkey.
  10. When asked, selected students should show their documents.

Turkey Scholarship applicants must submit all the below-listed documents at the time of application. Candidates are responsible for entering authentic candidature data into the system during the online Turkey Scholarship Application procedure.

To apply for a scholarship online through the Türkiye Scholarship Application System (TBBS), all candidates must upload the following documents:

  • A valid identity document, such as a passport or ID card
  • A recent photograph of the candidate
  • Results of national exams (if any)

What is the selection process for the Turkey Scholarship?

Scholarship candidates are selected based on their academic background and interview results. The following documents will be used to assess the applicant’s academic performance:

  • Diploma Grade
  • The Last Term’s General Average Grades
  • University Entrance Exam Grade (if any)
  • High School Graduation Exam / Baccalaureate Grade (if any)
  • Scores on international tests (if any)
  • Other academic certificates or (*) cumulative GPA

The requirements for applying online for the Turkey Scholarship are:

  • Undergraduate degree applications: 70%
  • PhD and Master’s degree applicants 75%
  • Ninety per cent of those applying to medical schools

Applicants will be contacted for interviews based on their grades. When Turkish Consulates are not available, technology will be used in their place of them. Results will appear on the application system and will also be emailed.
